Pina Colada Protein Style

Happy August!🍍 As some of you may know, I’m super into tropical things! Β I am crazy about coconuts, pineapples, plumerias, and the ocean. Β (I swear in my past life I was a mermaid, or some islander!). I recently got really into smoothies and decided to make a fun tropical smoothie recipe, but one that has more substance and that could even be replaced as a light meal. Β Keep reading if you love healthy recipes, and summer!

The key to making a smoothie that you can replace meals with is having protein in them. Β I don’t usually recommend protein powder because there are a lot of more healthy and natural ways to add protein. Β Some things you can use are: Β hemp seed, greek yogurt, almonds, almond butter, tofu, pumpkin seeds, chia seeds, oats, avocado, kale… and theres a lot more too! Β But those are the most common.

What you’ll need:

  • 1 organic banana, peeled
  • 3 table spoons of pure coconut oil
  • 2/3 pineapple spears
  • 1 cup of unsweetened almond milk
  • 1 square of silken tofu
  • frozen mangos (you can add more or less depending on how fruity you want it)And walah! You have a super yummy and healthy Hawaiian protein smoothie. The perfect summer treat!

        Oh yes I always have me some tropical concoctions when it’s hot out here in florida😊 even just smelling tropical things makes me feel at paradise it makes it so much more rewarding though when I actually eat the fruits lol
